To assist you, the Network offers: Job Search Capabilities Open job postings and information about the projected earnings and skills necessary to obtain those jobs Computer access to Internet-based job banks On-line registration to match skills to job orders through the state-wide data base called SCOTI (Sharing Career Opportunities & Training Information) Job Fairs Job Preparation Services Resume and cover letter preparation Job readiness classes to improve communication, interviewing skills and basic workforce knowledge Free access to telephone, fax machine and copy machine Career counseling Training/Testing Services (Services provided through partnerships with vocational schools and community colleges) Occupational skills training Training and retraining to upgrade skills for occupations in demand Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Introduction to Computers Classes Diagnostic testing and comprehensive assessments to identify employment goals and barriers Free workshops covering such topics as employer expectations, interviewing skills and resume writing Additional Resources Payment for tuition, books and supplies, as well as assistance for travel expense (based on eligibility and available funds) Job placement assistance Labor market information identifying employment trends and skills necessary for occupations in demand Reference materials and video programs |
